The strategy adopted by COMEGI is based on three major scientific principles:

  1. A systemic approach to understand, to diagnose and to recommend better strategies and actions.
  2. An interdisciplinary integration of multiple knowledge stemming from the nature of COMEGI.
  3. A “problem oriented- approach” following the so called Mode 2 of Research which implies that research should be based on real problems and systems.

The activities that promote the dissemination of results, technical and state-of-the-art practices, are part of the objectives of this unit and are materialized in the organization of conferences and meetings, as well as technical visits and workshops, for both academic and industry public. These activities are aimed at promoting the dissemination of technical concepts and technology that help industry and scholars in realizing the growing value of such tools. COMEGI is placing a strong focus in cooperation with the different institutions and companies intensifying collaboration to foster mutual benefits

During the period 2018-2022 most research will stem from key drives already started by researchers of COMEGI.

The expected results will cover:

  • New simulation and impact models for public management and budgeting;
  • Better understanding of labour market dynamics and supply of appropriate skills for development of firms;
  • Design of new strategies to speed up the development Digital Economy through new lines of e-business , e- public procurement, e-marketing e-logistics applied to key sectors such as e-Tourism, e-accommodation renting, Blend Learning e- Voting, e-Banking and e-Health;
  • Improvement of accounting procedures and of methods to anticipate firms decline or bankruptcy;
  • Better methods to manage human resources through the design of incentives and performance assessment methods and in terms of their perception by employees;
  • Foresight analysis of new skill requires by the firms to cope with innovation and sustainability ;
  • Integrated methodologies to design and manage technologic systems in terms of better information systems and aiming to optimize their performance levels;
  • Better logistic models and operational systems to improve the management of industrial systems.
